Get in touch

Email support@gymkin.com. We read everything. In the app, open Help & Support (from the menu, or Profile → Help & support) and pick a topic: the email it starts already includes your app version. For a counting problem, tell us the exercise and the weight.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the GymKin sensor?

Rep counting needs the GymKin sensor. Everything else works without it: log sets by hand, run a program and look back through your history. The sensor is sold at gymkin.com/shop.

How do I pair my sensor?

Turn the sensor on and keep it near your phone, with Bluetooth on. In a workout, open an exercise and tap “Connect a sensor” (or open Devices from the menu). Tap “Start scan”, then tap your sensor in the list. If the connection drops during a workout, the app reconnects on its own. After you close and reopen the app, pair the sensor again the same way.

The rep count looks wrong. What do I do?

After each sensor set, GymKin asks you to check the count. Tap “Yes, that's right”, fix it with “Edit count”, or use “Adjust boundaries” to trim the recording. Fixed counts only reach us if you contribute your sets. If an exercise miscounts again and again, open Help & Support in the app, tap “Wrong rep count” and tell us the exercise and weight.

The sensor disconnected in the middle of a set.

The set keeps what was recorded before the drop. Keep your phone within a few meters of the sensor, and charge the sensor if its battery is low.

Where does my data go?

Your workout history syncs to your account, so it survives a reinstall. Set videos always stay on your phone. Raw motion recordings stay on your phone too, unless you turn on “Contribute your sets” in Profile (it's off by default). Then each set's recording uploads over Wi-Fi to help improve rep counting. You can turn it off at any time, and deleting your account deletes what was uploaded. Our privacy policy has the details: www.gymkin.com/privacy.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile → Privacy & account → Delete account…, then type DELETE to confirm. If you haven't signed in recently, you'll be asked to sign out and back in to finish. If anything can't be removed automatically, the app will tell you, and we'll finish the cleanup by email.

Can I send a screenshot?

Yes. Attach it to your email to support@gymkin.com. In the app, tap a topic in Help & Support to start that email.

Which phones work with GymKin?

iPhone, with iOS 15.1 or later. The sensor connects to it over Bluetooth.

Where can I get the sensor?

At gymkin.com/shop.

Known limitations

We'd rather tell you than have you find out.

  • Automatic counting is an estimate. Unusual tempos or exercise styles can miscount, which is why the app asks you to check each count.

  • Keep GymKin open while you record a set. If the app is closed in the middle of a set, by you or by iOS, some or all of that set's recording can be lost. You can still enter the count by hand.
