Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 23, 2026 · Last updated: October 23, 2026

This policy explains how GymKin, Inc. ("GymKin", "we") handles consumer health data, as Washington and Nevada law define it. It applies to everyone who uses the GymKin app in the United States. Our general privacy policy is at www.gymkin.com/about/privacy.

GymKin, Inc., a Colorado corporation · support@gymkin.com

1. The consumer health data we collect, and why

Contributed set recordings. Collected only if you turn on Contribute your sets (Profile), and only with your consent. For each set:

  • the sensor's motion data (accelerometer and gyroscope) and timestamps;

  • the exercise, equipment, mount and weight;

  • the rep count the app recorded and the count you confirmed;

  • per-rep stats and any trim;

  • your sensor's name and Bluetooth ID;

  • any capture note you typed.

We use them to build, train and test GymKin's rep-counting software:

  • comparing the app's counts with the counts you confirmed;

  • testing changes to the counter before they ship;

  • making labels that mark where each rep starts and ends.

Your workout history. The exercises, sets, reps and weights you log, and the stats GymKin works out from them:

  • rep pace, range of motion, time under tension;

  • estimated power, control score and estimated one-rep max;

  • your sensor's name and Bluetooth ID;

  • any capture note.

We use it only to show you your history and progress, which is the service you asked for.

2. Where it comes from

  • You: what you log and type.

  • Your GymKin sensor, through your phone.

  • GymKin's own processing: the stats, and the labels made from your recordings.

3. What we share

We do not share or sell consumer health data. No third party and no affiliate receives it.

Google (Firebase and Google Cloud) stores it for us as a service provider, under a contract that limits Google to processing it on our instructions. Crash reports we send to Sentry have rep counts removed.

4. Your rights, and how to use them

You can:

  • Confirm and access. Ask whether we collect or share your consumer health data, and get a copy, including a list of anyone we've shared it with. Today that list is empty.

  • Withdraw consent. Profile → Contribute your sets → Stop contributing. New uploads stop at once; an upload already under way may finish. You can also choose to delete the sets you've already sent. Deleted sets can't be restored.

  • Delete.

    • To delete everything: Profile → Privacy & account → Delete account.

    • To delete your contributed recordings and keep your account: Profile → Contribute your sets → delete the sets you've sent, or email us.

    • We delete from every system we use, including backups (backups within six months), and tell our service providers to delete it too. Labels made from your recordings are deleted within 30 days.

  • Ask to correct it. For Nevada residents, email us to review or correct your data.

How to ask. Use the in-app controls above, or email support@gymkin.com from the address on your GymKin account, so we can confirm it's you. You don't need to create an account to ask.

  • We answer within 45 days. If we need longer, we'll tell you why within those 45 days and take at most 45 more.

  • Requests are free up to twice a year.

Appeals. If we turn a request down, reply to our answer with the word "appeal". We'll answer in writing within 45 days, saying what we did or didn't do and why. If we still say no, you can complain to:

5. More for Nevada residents

  • How we process it: as described in section 1, on Google Cloud servers, with access limited to the people who need it to provide or improve rep counting.

  • Tracking: no third party collects consumer health data about you over time or across other websites or services through GymKin.

  • Changes: we announce material changes to this policy in the app and update the date above.

6. Changes

We will never use your consumer health data in a new way, or collect a new kind of it, without telling you first and asking for your consent again.
